Edmonton International Airport (YEG) and SixRing Partner to Accelerate Sustainable Aviation

The MOU will focus on improved facilities and access to sustainable aviation fuel for the Edmonton Metro Region

Edmonton International Airport (YEG) and SixRing have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to commit to working together to advance the use of biofuels, including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), in the aviation industry. The partnership between SixRing and Edmonton International Airport will support the development of a commercial-scale production facility in the Edmonton Metro Region.

 

SixRing Nears Commercial Takeoff For Breakthrough Biofuel Technology

Calgary-based startup SixRing Inc. is nearing commercial takeoff for a suite of patented chemical formulas, methods and low-energy processes to produce a biomass effluent that can be upgraded into a full range of biofuels — and sustainable petrochemicals and life sciences products — from low-cost readily available agricultural and forestry waste.

Government of Canada invests over $1.4 million in SixRing clean technology

The team at SixRing™ is honored to receive an investment of more than $1.4 million to support our next phase of development to scale up production. Francis Drouin, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, announced on behalf of the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, an investment of more than $1.4 million to support SixRing Inc.'s next phase of development to scale up production. These funds will be used for scaling the company's low-energy biomass conversion process that converts agricultural waste into renewable fuels and sustainable advanced materials.

 

SixRing Inc. Invited to Join the Clean Tech Showcase at Pacific NorthWest Economic Region’s 31st Annual Summit

SixRing is honoured to be invited by PNWER to participate in the conference agenda and to take part PNWER’s environmental very select technology showcase. Founder and CEO, Clay Purdy, welcomes the opportunity to participate in the PNWER agenda’s Sustainable Aviation panel discussion, where he will highlight the contribution SixRing’s technology will make to the development of sustainable aviation fuel for the North American market. The SixRing process creates minimal emissions, does not compete with food production, and is readily scalable.

 

Sustainable Fuels to be Tested at EIA

Edmonton International Airport and SixRing, a subsidiary of Calgary-based Fluid Energy Group Ltd., have signed an agreement to utilize the SixRing process to produce one of the world’s cleanest drop-in aviation fuels, to explore possible collaboration to secure clean-hydrogen supplies as a key input, and to work together to scale SixRing technology to other airports and transportation hubs in Canada and globally. EIA will support SixRing by making introductions to airlines and industry partners.


 

SixRing awarded an Alberta Innovates Grant

March 15, 2022

Alberta Innovates Building with Biofiber Program has awarded SixRing™ a grant of $240,000 for the project “Enviro-Cel™ Compositions from underutilized agriculture and forestry biomass for Sustainable Construction Materials”. This project will contribute to accelerate the conversion of Alberta’s waste biomass into value-added products.
