What is DEF?
Diesel Exhaust Fluid is a non-toxic, colorless solution made of 32.5% high-purity urea and 67.5% deionized water.
DEF is stored separately and injected into the exhaust stream, where it helps convert NOx into harmless nitrogen and water vapor.
